Cooler weather is here, along with a distinctly winter term atmosphere about the school with different sports, exams and plays, pressure to push through the syllabus, and so on. It has been a delight to have the girls back and all is going very nicely. Our winter uniform is much warmer for them, especially with the options of jersey, blazer, gloves, scarf and – naturally – their Chisi hat to keep their head warm. The Grade 1’s and 2’s who are less active and are not generally at school through the afternoon may wear trousers, but from Grade 3 these are much too warm. By midmorning it is generally getting quite hot. Instead, they may bring hot water bottles and knee blankets. The latter serve many other purposes, too.
