2018 Fountain Five Committee had a really fun filled year. We took the view this year that we needed to try get a steady flow of fundraising and thus out sourced for all our events so as to try make it fun and enjoyable for everyone. The point for fundraising was not only about raising money for the approved projects but also to try and change the way it can be done and to bring in a sense of community. We think we have achieved both this year. We started off with the introduction of the Barista in February 2018 which we felt worked and is still working for the school and we hope that the next years committee will continue this as it is a really great steady income earner, the parents love it and so do the girls. We also continued the Lapel badges from the 2017 Committee. Our main event was the Chisi Fun Walk that could have only happened with our dedicated parents and sponsors for the day, this we felt was our highlight of the year with some great feedback on the catering and planning, a few hiccups along the way (which we will pass on to the new 2019 Committee) but all in all a really great day for everyone that joined us.
Given the circumstances in Zimbabwe this year, and especially more recently with the cash crunch, we decided to not push the parents/corporates, and with this said from the amazing support everyone has given towards Chisi Junior School we as the Committee of 2018 want to thank you all so much for the support and generosity you gave as a community. The funds raised in 2018 have gone towards the stock rooms for classes and a proposed Bell Tower. To my team this year you have all gone above and beyond to bring in sponsorship and to make these events, sports days and Chisi school so much stronger. In the times we're living in and logistics is extremely hard to even imagine, and I am very fortunate to have had such a dedicated team. So, on behalf of myself I want to thank each and every one.
