The Grades 4 and 5 classes cheerfully presented 'Hansel and Gretel'. As the story leant towards pantomine in its telling, there were several unexpected characters - a nervous lion and singing moles, bees, rabbits and hens - and not one but a whole coven of hairy witches. Fortunately they all lived happily ever after when they discovered that the witches didn't really want to eat the children and that evil stepmothers were contrite and suspiciously eager to wipe the slate clean!
